The Process

Fourteen months.
Four chapters.

Every Maison Noire commission moves through the same four moments. The room changes; the choreography does not.

  1. Chapter I
    01
    Month 1

    The Atelier Day

One private afternoon at the studio. Tea, natural light, no laptops. We sketch three concept directions in pencil in front of you, layer in fabric and scent, and leave with the beginning of a design file.

By the end of the day you know what your wedding will look, sound, and feel like. Not a slide deck — an actual room, drawn.

    • One founder, one designer, one senior planner
    • Three concept sketches, one direction chosen
    • Preliminary palette, scent, and sound direction
    • Working budget within 8% of final
  2. Chapter II
    02
    Months 2–3

    The Design File

The heart of the process. A single leather-bound document — sixty pages, hand-set — that specifies every element of the evening. Floor plan, floral schematic, lighting cues, place setting, run-of-show, playlist, scent-throw.

The file is what makes the rest of production quiet. Vendors don't guess. Nothing is invented on the day.

    • 60+ page design bible, hand-bound
    • Scaled floor plans and elevations
    • Full stationery suite, hand-set proofs
    • Signed off in person, one revision round
  3. Chapter III
    03
    Months 4–13

    The Production

Ten quiet months of vendor sourcing, contracts, tastings, walkthroughs, negotiation. You'll see us for four milestone reviews and a hundred small emails. Everything else happens off-stage.

You have one direct line: your creative director. Not an inbox, not a portal ticket. A phone number.

    • Direct line to your creative director
    • Four milestone reviews (30 / 60 / 90 / 120 days out)
    • Vendor sourcing across 4 continents
    • Guest-side logistics, travel, room blocks
  4. Chapter IV
    04
    Month 14

    The Evening

You are a guest at your own wedding. A two-planner day-of team, a production runner, and our founder are on-site from load-in to last dance. The design file becomes the room, exactly.

The next morning: a bound archival memento arrives at your door — the design file, updated with photography.

    • 1 planner per 20 guests, minimum two
    • Founder on-site the full day
    • Discreet production runner in the wings
    • Archival memento delivered next morning
